About The Tutors

All NGT tutors are RGT registered and have up to date enhanced disclosures from the CRB.
 
NGT cover both Rockschool and RGT grades 1-8 as required.





Tim Walters

Tim has been playing the Guitar for over twenty years and has
been teaching in the Newbury area since 2000. He is experienced in most
styles of music and is an accomplished sight reader and improviser. Tim
also plays regular proffessional gigs and has been lucky enough to have
played alongside some of the finest session musicians in the UK. He has
a distinction pass at grade 8 and is a Licentiate of the London College
of Music. As well as teaching privately, Tim teaches Guitar and Music
Technology at Cheam school.




Jonathan Strange

Jonathan Strange has been teaching professionally for the last six years. He has toured with various bands as both a Guitarist and Drummer and is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Jon has reached a remarkable level of
technical command on the Guitar and has written a book "Riff Training"
that is selling well across the World. Jon is qualified to Diploma
level and has taught musicians of all ages and abilities, including
tutoring signed recording artists. Currently Jonathan teaches guitar at The Clere School and Technology College.



Victoria BB

Victoria has recorded and worked with various top producers providing vocals at studio sessions for prestigious
artists such as Cher. She has toured with and opened up for artists as diverse as Vanessa Mae, Rose Royce,
Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Sister Sledge, Stereophonics, Status Quo, Eric Clapton, Stevie Winwood and
Brian Ferry. She also sang with sir Paul McCartney at the George Harrison Tribute concert.Victoria has written
music for Carlton TV's "Liverpool 1" and "Thief Takers" and has provided vocals for several West End shows.

Mark Smith

Mark has always been an enthusiastic musician playing piano tuba, guitar, drums and several other instruments from an early age. After studying Music technology and Music A level at College he went to Southampton University where he graduated from in 2002 with a music degree. Whilst there he studied, amongst other things, Jazz and pop styles on the piano and classical Tuba performance techniques. After this he worked as an entertainer and a solo piano/ vocalist performing at private functions and various hotels and restaurants before taking a full time post running a music department at a secondary school. Here he taught all key stages to A-level. Mark has always been enthusiastic about playing live and does so both as a solo musician and in several bands.
