About The Tutors
Jonathan Strange
Jonathan Strange has been teaching professionally for the last six years. He has toured with various bands as both a Guitarist and Drummer and is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Jon has reached a remarkable level of
technical command on the Guitar and has written a book "Riff Training"
that is selling well across the World. Jon is qualified to Diploma
level and has taught musicians of all ages and abilities, including
tutoring signed recording artists. Currently Jonathan teaches guitar at The Clere School and Technology College.

“I picked up a guitar for the first time very late in life - I must be four or five times older than most of Johanna's normal students. She has been very patient with me because I have to fit in practising around work and private life commitments, which sometimes means that it takes me longer to make progress than I would like. Johanna has kept me focused, she is always ready to answer my (I'm sure sometimes daft) questions and to explain things that I'm finding intriguing. There's no doubt in my mind that I've made far better progress with my playing as a result of her teaching than I had expected - unlike my lovely brother who can pick up and play an instrument without effort, I have to try and to practice hard to achieve anything. I get real joy out of playing and that in no small way is down to Johanna and her teaching style. I would commend Johanna to any student who wants to learn in a relaxed environment with a teacher who really understands what she is teaching and has a great way of conveying her knowledge. And I hold my hat off to her - I'm not sure I could bear to listen to tortured chords on a regular basis - that's one of my main drivers to get better, so I don't have to listen to me playing them!”
